Antique 1910 tall oven stove
This stove was cast around 1910 by the firm of Anker Heergaard.
Anker Heergaard was reckoned to be the finest manufacturer of stoves in all of Denmark (and bear in mind that in those days Denmark was reckoned to make the finest stoves in Europe - and arguably still does!) and for this reason it was designated as the Royal Foundry. If you look on an Anker Heergaard stove from this period you will see an F, which stands for King Frederik, with a crown above it.
Tall slim stoves, usually finished with a crown on top and sometimes having a central oven, were the peak of Danish stove design at the time, combining an elegance of design with an astonishing level of efficiency.
On this model the central oven, which the Danes mainly used to keep their coffee pot warm, has a hotplate that lifts up for loading long logs.
It has exquisitely detailed castings with a flame motif, and comes with a riddling grate, an ashpan and a wrought iron handle.
This is a beautiful, unique stove that will put out around 3-10Kw.
It stands at around 2m tall.
Price: £3,500.
